30/05/21 -- Dartmoor walk from Bennett's Cross

An 8 mile walk over moorland - hilly, stony, boggy. Weather permitting, there will be fantastic views. We will see tors, Grimspound, the last working tin mine on Dartmoor, farms and forest. Some of the climbs will be steep but the views are worth the effort.
Meet at 10.00 am in the car park by Bennett's Cross on the B3212 (this is the 2nd car park on the right after passing the Warren House Inn on the left) - Grid ref: SX 680 816 (from Walk Guide) (67977/81597 from GPS Unit). Suggested map: OS Explorer OL28 Dartmoor.
9.00 am departure from the car park by The Watermark, Ivybridge.
Note: Wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear suitable for the weather conditions prevailing on the day of the walk. Walking poles will be useful.
Provide your own face mask and hand sanitiser. Bring your own refreshments for the coffee/tea and lunch stops. There are no toilets on this walk. There will be livestock about - sheep with lambs, pregnant ponies and ponies with their foals - so please keep dogs on leads. Please adhere to the latest COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Government.
