18/04/21 -- Ivybridge to Cornwood circular

A 9 mile walk (moderate gradient) from Ivybridge and follows along Station Road, under the viaduct to Pit Hill Farmhouse and through several gates on to the moor to Hanger Down, Hall Cross, Torr, Vicarage Bridge, Cornwood, Corntown, Hangar Down cottages, back to Hanger Down across the moor to Henlake Down and back to Ivybridge.
Terrain: The paths are stony in places and very likely to be muddy, There are also bridleways, tarmac lanes and several hills along the way. There are a couple of stiles and several gates to go through. This a dog-friendly walk as long as they are on leads when near animals on the moor and also on the tarmac lanes.
Start time/Departure point: Leave at 10.00 am from the Erme Court car park opposite The Watermark in Ivybridge. Please arrive in good time so that we can collect details for Track and Trace and allocate walkers to groups of 6.
Please remember to bring your own refreshments for the usual tea/coffee and lunch stops.
Clothing/Footwear: Walkers should wear footwear and outdoor clothing suitable for the climate conditions on the day. Gaiters and walking poles would be useful. Please bring a face mask and hand sanitizer with you.
