28/06/20 -- Walk postponed due to Coronavirus Beesands Coastal Walk

The walk will start from Beesands car park, Grid ref: SX 819 405 at 10.00 am. Car parking is free of charge. There are public toilets available.

This is a scenic 6.5 miles coastal walk with wonderful seaside views (weather permitting). We leave Beesands to follow the South West Coast Path and will pass the 'lost' village of Hallsands. We will divert to Start Point Lighthouse for our coffee stop. From there we will rejoin the coast path and walk around the rugged headland where we may be lucky enough to spot wildlife such as seals, dolphins and birds of prey. We will then head steeply uphill to Start Farm car park and retrace our steps back to Beesands.

The walk is classed as mainly moderate but there are some extended steep climbs in a couple of places. The terrain will be mainly coastal path and green lanes but we will cross some tarmac, beach and shingle as well.

Debrief: The Cricket Inn, Beesands

Car Share: Depart from Erme Court car park (next to The Watermark) in Ivybridge at 8.45 am.

Walk Leader: John Mc
