11/08/19 -- Fernworthy: A journey with the Ancients - cists, standing stones & stone circles

A stunning moorland walk starting from Fernworthy Reservoir and then heading up across the moor taking in some wondrous sights and sites - a couple of tors, some stone rows and some magnificeint views. The walk includes waterside wanderings, open moor meanderings and forest forays - it is hilly in places and may be boggy underfoot if wet. There is also a section through bracken, so shorts wearers beware!
Start time: 10.00 am from a parking area beyond the car park at Fernworthy Reservoir - Grid ref: SX661 837. Take the usual road to the reservoir car park but continue past it on your right and carry on until you see a grassy parking area on the right hand side at the southernmost tip of the reservoir.
Usual moorland kit required, walking poles will be helpful, take plenty of provisions for an 8 mile walk.
Car Share: Depart from the car park in front of The Watermark, Ivybridge at 8.45 am.
