19/05/19 -- Kingston area

A challenging but hugely rewarding 6 mile estuary and coastal walk. Be prepared for steep ascents and descents, especially the flight of steps down to Westcombe Beach - poles advised, especially if wet! The walk will include quiet lanes, woodland, stunning Wonwell Beach and dramatic cliffs. After resting on Hoist Point, the highest point between Plymouth and Dartmouth, we will turn inland at Westcombe Beach, passing a willow plantation and follow a lane, up the valley back to Kingston. Please be aware that the lane is likely to be very muddy.
Start time: 10.00 am from the Dolphin Pub car park, Kingston - Grid ref: SX 635 478. Parking consent has been granted by the Dolphin Pub, with the proviso that our debrief is there.
Car share: 9.15 am departure from the Erme Court car park, Ivybridge (next to The Watermark). No charge for parking on Sundays.
Remember to wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and bring refreshments for the usual coffee and lunch stops.
