28/07/19 -- Hameldown and Tor bagging

10.00 am start. Meet at Widecombe in the Moor Grid ref: SX 718 768 Pay & Display Car Park on the Green (According to the Internet, it's free on Sunday but bring £1.80 just in case).
A Dartmoor day of rolling hills, granite tors and wooded valleys. We will take an easy pace admiring the views. Plenty of archaeology, history and wonderful moorland with bits of country lane in between. Approximately 8.5 miles. Plenty of stops en route, vittels at Grimspound, like our ancestors did, bring your own nuts and berries.
Walking boots and appropriate walking gear for the weather forecast that day please. Bring plenty of water.
Debrief at the Rugglestone Inn to sample the ale.
Dogs: As the walk is still in the Dartmoor National Park Lambing and Nesting Season until 31 July, the Walk Leader suggests that dogs are left at home for this walk as they would be be on a lead at all times for this walk.
Car sharing from the car park (free on Sunday) outside The Watermark, Ivybridge at 9.15 am.
Walk Leader: Mandy
