A circular walk, approximately 7 miles starting at 10.00 am from Bolberry Down car park, grid ref: SX 688 385. Car parking is free for National Trust members - just need to scan your current NT membership card. For non-NT members you will need cash to purchase a car park ticket. This walk is an undulating journey along the spectacular coastal path (hopefully!) between Bolberry Down and Starehole Bay. The route follows cliff tops and grassland with several steepish ascents and descents. After visiting Bolt Head, the track drops down to Starehole Bay and then heads inland along tracks and lanes. On the return journey, the walk passes by an old wartime bunker with an airfield then heads along fields and an ancient lane back to the car park.
Walkers should wear suitable footwear and outdoor clothing. If we have had rain, then gaiters would be very useful. Bring walking poles if required. Remember to bring refreshments for the usual tea/coffee and lunch stops.
Car share: Depart from the Erme Court car park (adjacent to The Watermark), Ivybridge at 9.00 am.
Debrief: At the Oceans Restaurant, Bolberry Down where are toilet facilities.
