18/11/18 -- Haytor area & optional map reading and navigation exercise

A circular walk taking in several tors, the disused quarry, hut circles and the famous Haytor Rocks. As several IWC members have expressed an interest in undertaking a map reading and navigation exercise, this can be incorporated into the walk provided that the weather conditions are suitable. Anyone wishing to take part will need a copy of Ordnance Survey Outdoor Leisure Map OL28 which covers the area of the walk together with a compass.
Walk length: Approximately 6 miles
Terrain: Moorland and hills
Meeting points: 9.15 am at The Watermark car park, Ivybridge for car share OR 10.00 am at the car park at Grid ref: SX770778. The car park can be accessed via a road opposite the houses adjacent to the Visitor Centre at Haytor Vale. Travel along the road until you come to 2 car parks opposite each other. No parking charge.
Debrief: Ullacombe Farm Cafe. They also have a farm shop full of interesting items and nice food.
